The drug was beyond astonishing - it was Life itself. It flooded into her soul and washed away all misfortune, failure, ugliness. Too soon it faded, leaving an empty husk that knew only unutterable need. Her hunched shell autonomously shuffled out to do whatever horrible things needed to get more drug.
