Dear Neocon, your post was neither long nor dry.

I lived in Canada for many, many years so I was not a follower of US politics.

What we heard about Reagan was that he was a very, very popular President and because of that Congress backed his increase in the US deficit.

Russia was a problem. And so was Central America. I'm not sure that the US accomplished any thing that was good for Central America.

But Gorby wanted detente with the US and Reagan obliged. I think it was a 50/50 deal with Russia.

Were you pleased with Reagan's accomplishments?
