I mentioned the ungrammatical sentences of journalists on national television because politicians blame school teachers for our children's ignorance.

The rumor is that in Seattle a school teacher who is the head of a household and who has a family can qualify for food stamps!

I do not know if the rumor is true. But Washington State Legislators give themselves handsome raises and generous pensions. Also, those handsome and/or cute administrative assistants who follow the legislators around, answer their phones and so forth may make more money than the school teacher who has an undergraduate degree plus several years of teacher training.

Who is responsible for the education of our children? I believe we all have a stake in the educational success of our children.

Unfortunately, many children spend many hours entranced by the programs offered by television. TV programs are violent. Prominent journalist are unable to describe daily events in grammatical sentences.

Consequently, is it fair that politicians censure school teachers for our children's ignorance?

Maybe we are all responsible for our children's success or failure.
