Hi, Bruce. I've been away most of the weekand. Anyhow here's today's trivia. Epithermal, hypothermal and mesothermal are all hydrotermal type deposits -- meaning that they are associated with hot thermal groundwaters. Minerals dissolved within the fluids are precipitated out. Epithermal deposits occur within about 1 km from the earth's crust and the temperatures are generally between 50 and 200C (if I remember correctly).... The fluids travel up fractures, joints, etc. And the minerals are preciptated along these weekess planes -- the results is a vein system within the rock containing the minerals. A vein is essentially a rock joint that is infilled with a secondary mineral.

Hope this helps,
Mich
