I'll be very honest here--I probably would have done exactly the same thing for myself or my sons. Would I be honorable in doing so? Absolutely not!

I disagree 100% . My father fought in WW2 , and he was the first to try and get me into the National Guard. He had no pull or influence. He just recognized a WW from a political "police action" , and there was nothing less than honorable about his actions and thoughts.

I may have had some guilt about serving in the guard, and not going to VN, but to say a father is less than honorable goes too far Chulu.
