Good response, Neocon. Indeed, very good. I think what you say here is bang on. But it seems to me even the specialists are neglecting the cultural prizes of the ages for the Bill Clinton's and "Bridges" of the world.

I once determined to avoid films, and actually did so for several years because I found so many films utterly worthless. Now that I have returned I find little has changed. But I have learned to lower my expectations and I must confess the search for that rare gem of a film has become more enjoyable.

I saw "The Apostle" last night. From the very first frame I found it hard to believe those folk were acting. It all seemed so real and pure-- more a documentary than a film. Duvall was extraordinary.
