I knew you would like it. The intensity is startling, and the balance is carefully kept. There are few movies with quite that degree of penetration. I would also recommend "The Best Intentions", screenplay by Ingmar Bergman, direction by Bille August, as one such; also, Cassavettes "A Woman Under the Influence"; the film "Mistress", I can't remember by whom, but it has Martin Landow, Robert DeNiro, Danny Aiello, Eli Wallach, Christopher Walken, and Robert Wahl; "The Deer Hunter", with DeNiro and Walken; "Cries and Whispers", by Ingmar Bergman; and "The 400 Blows", by Francois Truffaut. Although they are different, they all have that peculiar sense of watching Truth, at least for large portions of the film.....
