ESS Technology Expands Video CD Player Chip Capability to Include Education And Entertainment Game Features
FREMONT, Calif., April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- ESS Technologies Inc is announcing a new Video CD companion chip for the company's video CD chips. The new product, designated ES3209, brings a new generation of features that include education and entertainment game features. ESS introduced the product during the 3rd Annual Video CD Conference held in Beijing, China, which was attended by over sixty top consumer electronic product manufacturers. The conference is sponsored by the China Ministry of Electronics Industry, which is a China government agency that sets policy, regulations, and standards for the Video CD industry in China.
The ES3209 analog companion chip works with ESS' recently-introduced Video CD solutions, the ES3208, ES3210, and ES3228, to add the education and entertainment game features to its Video CD functions, such as Karaoke, playing of movie titles, and audio CD.
The ES3209 includes all the features of ESS' ES3207, a companion chip that integrates most analog function requirements into a single chip, such as an NTSC-TV encoder, audio DAC, echo, 3D surround sound, clock generator, remote control, and microphone amplifier. The new ES3209 features include education and entertainment game capabilities and professional Karaoke functions, such as echo cancellation and Smart Pitch, which can adjust the sound of a singer's voice. The ES3209 is in a 100-pin PQFP package and is pin-compatible with the ES3207.
