now that my apologies have been accepted, and thanks again: may I proceed in the direction that my original thoughts were going.

Besides the Muslims, that worship the God of Abraham to your knowledge are there any other religions in the world that worship only one God ?

For example the Buddist worships Budda but do they worship other Gods also ? The Zen sect for example believes in salvation by grace, and the grace is extended by getting in touch with God through meditation.

This sounds great but in my minds eye, the difference that Christianity offers is that while God is a God of grace and mercy He is also a God of righteousness, and Holiness that mankind will never understand. Therefore , while God is a God of grace, His condition for the fallen state of man is that our sins were meant to be paid for;( or we can pay for them ourselves with death and eternal fire ) or believe that Christ on the cross was sufficient payment. Knowing that Christ was God made into man, yes. God himself paid the price for us and what more of a picture of grace would you wish to believe in?

Why cannot mankind believe that God would transfer our punishment to an innocent party. Simply because there are not many examples for us as humans to reference from.

Therefore the inference is that God would not do so either.....but in reality that is what separates us from God. In this life it is possible to become more like God in our purity but as to becoming as God.....you can forget that....it won't happen no matter how many times you are reincarnated, a zillion times will not do it, for anyone out there that believes in that lie......In Christ.gregor
