I think the idea behind the cross platform OS is that Apple thinks that the MotorApple is superior to WinTel, but all the software is WinTel. So if they introduce a machine on which you can run a new operating system where you can still run all the old applications (with some effort...like MS DOS to windows) that you are more willing to switch to the new operating system....so that it will become a new standard....and get more software development At some point, people will buy a MotorApple because it is faster etc rather than buying a WinTel because it is the Industry Standard.. Is it the beach head for taking over the computer industry?? I don't know but that is "their" best case scenario... Sven
