Actually, the Canadian shield is an excellent and stable place, I believe. A little cold in winter. I think the eroded roots of very old mountains might be nice. Some good stuff in Australia. I agree that putting a server bank in Santa Clara is uncharacteristically dumb --- but the same goes for fabs in Israel and Ireland for political reasons at the times they were done. Maybe these fabs have helped to stabilize Irish and Israeli politics. Maybe the Santa Clara farm will help stabilize some of the many faults in Silicon Valley. <g>
