"we (Ameritrade) will maintain our income because of the investors continuing to buy & sell" -- He's wrong and AMTD is crap. I have an AMTD account but just let it hold one stock, I refuse to use trade with them any longer. As for trading, in a market that lacks any direction, people trade less. Volume has clearly been down. E trade understands this and that is why they are E group, they are diversifying as they know commissions will only be 1 piece of their pie. jim
