<Intel did a great job on these, allowing the Merced to be up and running in systems "at birth". Too bad this great news gets lost in the plethora of bad news on the Camino/Rambus and Xeon/8-way bug.> Given the amount of software investment it takes to get some momentum going it will be well past Merced for IA64 revenues to be meaningful to Intel. Not to rain on the parade but I have a hard time seeing who other than Gadi Singer will benefit from Merced.
