Not to rain on the parade but I have a hard time seeing who other than Gadi Singer will benefit from Merced. Who or what is Gadi Singer? I agree that Merced (and IA64 in general) will be a very slow ramp. The irony is that the x86 is winning in the workstation/server area. Intel doesn't need Merced to conquer those markets!
