The CellPoint Technology goes into the SIM card
The CellPoint System enables GSM-based positioning and telematics. AviSIM OTA is the world leading system for Over The Air Value Added Services, developed by AU-System. These two Systems combined, with the SIM Toolkit standard for communication between the GSM phone and the SIM card, make it possible for the CellPoint System to position a standard handheld GSM phone.
AU-System
AU-System is a world leader in developing software solutions for mobile telecommunications. The AviSIM OTA works by transferring executable SIM commands to the SIM card over the GSM network. The system is independent of the receiving mobile terminal and the SIM card. Short Message Service (SMS) is used as the transport medium.
CellPoint System
The CellPoint System is a system for positioning and telematics using the existing GSM network. The technology was designed in South Africa to determine the position of stolen or hijacked vehicles.
Together delivering the future
With this new technology, the CellPoint System can position GSM handheld phones or other devices equipped with a GSM module. GSM modules are getting smaller and cheaper, and will soon be integrated in cars, computers, stereos, palm pilots and other everyday equipment.
