I am just getting starting with options and I have a really basic question...

Suppose I hold an in-the-money call at expiration date and I am on vacation and out of touch with my broker. What happens to the option? Do I get cash for the option or do I have to come up with money to buy the underlying security at the strike price? Or, God forbid, I get nothing for my option because I failed to "exercise" it?

Thanks!
Manu
