I may have seen Taxi Driver years ago. If I did, it didn't leave an impression.

I recall when the book on the Ya Ya Sisterhood was on the best seller list. I often make the mistake of forming an opinion before knowing much about a thing. I recall my impression was I thought it was a gimmicky title and I dismissed it out of hand. I'm sure I jumped to a faulty conclusion.

I'm embarrassed to say I have never read Dickens. Much of my reading is non-fiction, but I love literature as well. Its been a while since I've read a novel. Most recently I read Tom Wolfe's A Man in Full. The critics disparaged it, as they had high expectations of it being a Bonfire of the Vanities for the 90's. I didn't enjoy it as much as Bonfires, but I still think highly of the book, and of Tom Wolfe for daring to give the critics something they weren't expecting.
