expect ATT to go with the ill-advised option for system software, as well as for standard technology... all brains went with Lucent... Lucent equals light, alternative is darkness... seek the light

reason for sticking with QCOM: seasonal, quarter just ended, check chart for appreciation from end of quarter to earnings announcmt... we got a sticky though... most companies announce 2nd/3rd week in October... we announce in first week of November... techs might slip after others are done announcing in profitaking... my guess is that QCOM will run with the pack thru October

when economics and competition force ATT to admit their poor judgment, they will capitulate and go with CDMA... but not before losing significant market share, before suffering continued and severe embarrassment from wireless breakdowns, dropped calls, and horrible static quality... and not before ceding all data traffic, which encompasses soon-to-be burgeoning internet/email traffic... this aspect will loom large indeed soon

I sense a long drawn out slow death for ATT in wireless and longdistance... gonna be fun to watch... count on them to boost QCOM in a big way in y2001, moving the stock from 1150 to 1600 per share... or else, whoever buys crippled ATT by then

in y2001 I will own more shares... getting all tingly

from the tree
