Go2Net launches small business Web service
SEATTLE, Sept 29 (Reuters) - Internet portal Go2Net Inc.
said on Wednesday it had launched a new Web site
offering one-stop access to a wide range of services geared
toward small and medium-sized businesses.
Linked to Go2net's HyperMart site offering free Web site
platforms to some 500,000 businesses, the new small business
center will team with several partners providing services
ranging from payroll processing to trademark searches and
credit reports.
Go2Net shares were up $3 to $66.07 in afternoon Nasdaq
trading.
"The HyperMart Small Business Center will be of
considerable value to our member businesses and individual
users, as well as the participating service providers who are
looking to reach a highly targeted demographic focused on the
small and medium-sized business sector," Go2Net chief executive
Russell Howowitz said in a statement.
The Seattle-based company ranks ninth in page views among
Internet portals, according to Media Metrix, which tracks the
industry.
