AMERICA HELD HOSTAGE...DAY 3...THE CAMINO WATCH

I am now firmly of the opinion that no news is good news. Intel will announce the nature of the problem, the fix and the new shipping dates all at once. All OEMs will be given additional incentive to fire up and ship product. Publicity will be stepped up and, coupled with a timely Coppermine launch, Intel will really have something to crow about. They will not make the same mistake twice...all possible glitches, supply issues, performance measurements will have been carefully worked out and orchestrated. The spin will be major. Rambus will be "vindicated" in that there will be plenty of data supporting the fact that the technology was not to blame for the slot problem.

If you really think about it, there is no other logical reason why there has been no formal announcement by now except for the "wrap" theory.

The reason for all the OT stuff today is that we are all nervous as cats on a hot tin roof waiting for the aforementioned announcement. Apologies to those it bothered.
