The shoe doesn't drop until they have an Office service running natively on Solaris. What do ya think?

I think I don't see the connection. Where did it say anything about Solaris in the article linked to by the Prognosticator? MSFT likes to tie things together that don't need tieing, right? Why wouldn't they tie this service to Windows 2000-driven portals?

Edit: Actually after re-reading that marketwatch blurb, that thing is so vague that I don't even know what it means. "Renting" software? What the hell is that? Does it just mean you download pieces of the Word binary to your fat windows client where you can run it until its time bomb goes off, and they charge your Visa? That description didn't necessarily even sound like a portal service. It sounded like more Microsoft's standard "how can we take what we have now, make it look a little different, and fool the masses into thinking we've created a new era". It actually sounded more like drooling idiocy.
