Sapient Expands European Presence With Full-service Internet Consulting Office in Milan
Sapient Joins Forces with Italian Management Consultant, Gianfilippo Cuneo, to Offer Full-Service e-Business and e-Commerce Solutions
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 1999-- Sapient Corp (NASDAQ: SAPE - news), the innovative e-services consultancy, and Gianfilippo Cuneo, one of the top management consultants in Italy and chairman of Bain, Cuneo and Associates, today announced the creation of a joint venture, Sapient & Cuneo SRL, which will be headquartered in Milan. This venture will significantly expand Sapient's ability to meet the rapidly growing demand for e-services in Italy.
According to leading industry research firm International Data Corp., total usage of the Web in Italy is expected to grow from 3 million users at the end of 1998 to 30 million users by 2002, with estimates of dollars spent over the Internet projected to reach $18 billion. With the addition of a Milan office, Sapient is prepared to meet the growing demand for digital business strategy, brand and experience design, user research and technology implementation associated with the Internet.
