There could be some overstocking of inventories in 4th quarter 99. If so, that might cause higher production in 4th quarter - but perhaps lower production/orders in 1Q 2000......

True, it would lead to strong sales now, but weak sales after the first of the year. The market typically reacts to things about 3-6 months in advance, so the market should be reacting to what will happen early next year right about now. Maybe that is part of the reason for the correction.
