Gary, it is interesting how my missive could be misconstrued, what I was alluding to was whether CSCO would have the ability to maintain its relative market share. I am willing to raise the ante by offering you a vintage 1906 on this matter. Again, I know they can not and will not be able to maintain anything close to the market share they command today. They have formidable competition looming from almost every angle and it will be just a matter of time before their outer ramparts will be chipped away. I never said that they were finished, but rather their dominance will definitely attenuate.

Anyway, the results in the coming months will manifest our position. I have said in the past that 3Com is very well positioned in Broadband and Wireless and that I have absolute faith in the company remaining a competitive networking concern after the Palm spin-off.

To go short on 3Com would be incredibly foolish at this time considering the fuel behind the stock. Without upgrades the stock has done very well. IMO, management has done very well to improve operating efficiencies, refocus the company into the high margin arena and in a very timely manner spin-off the Palm division.
