[Sumitomo]

<< Any knowledge of CAP implementation in non-U.S. countries? >>

CAP is in trials, but not deployed. My understanding is that Europeans will not go non-standard.

<<< Would the Sumitomo deal suggest that Sumitomo will be Amtx''s system integrator in the Orient? What is NEC''s role?>>>

I'm not sure how NEC and Sumitomo work. I suspect they compliment
one another. The contract with NEC s for co-production and sales; the contract with Sumitomo is for both integration and distribution. Sumitomo was chosen because of its size and because of its close
relationship with NTT. Not only do the two companies work closely with one another, their headquarters are in the same building in Tokyo, owned by Sumitomo.

<<Who are AMTX's system integrators?>>

Central Offices have to upgrade to handle higher bandwidth. Amati''s primary integrator right now is NEC/Japan and now Sumimoto. I see today''s announcement as having enormous significance but I expect it will take time for the general investor to see it.

Regards, Pat
