This thread for sometime looked like one of the soc.culture ngs when Dipy came aboard. You'd have to go to his first few posts to understand his venom.
The people here have been critical of india and and at the same time have been proud of India for the positives. Dipy's asumption here was that all of us, to borrow from his limited vocabulary, are "saffron langots" and so are the people in india. Dipy took it personal when we discussed pakistan's foolish adventure in kargil, and if a nuclear war occurs what would happen.
Dipy's magnum opus has been in presenting news articles of accidents in india, pollution, ... in india and come up with his highly revered and factually based theory that India is disintegrating. All the accidents, ... are because of the "saffron langots", CIA, communist,... conspiracy.
He even has a renown international fund manager whose knowledge on india is so deep that he claims india is made up of 600 kingdoms and it's almost the worst place to invest in. Nobody here wants to have a discussion with him, since he presents nothing other than press clippings and making a statement that says India is disintegrating. The rest of the people here have acknowledged shortcomings in india and occasionally discuss it, but the focus is more on positive facts. Bottomline is that he hates india but taht's not the issue here, the issue is his arguments or the lack of it.
BTW, if have not apologised to Dipy, he will report you the web master/mistress and you will be made to sit in the penalty box not for 2 minutes or 5 minutes, but for a long time. (Has anybody been docked here ?) If you don't you will be branded a saffron langot (what does langot mean ?) and a stooge of the CIA/Pinkos/FBI/KGB/ABC/DEF/XYZ. |
