Whoah! You liked it!
Maybe I'm making faces out of clouds here, but I found some similarities between Slums (specifically Alan Arkin's character), and Henry Fool.
Both talked a good game, but you have the feeling it's bullshit Slums: the stabbing the cook in the leg to get the beef story Fool: The "one of you will lose an eye" story.
But someone else actually did it Slums: Viv stabbing Uncle Mickey Fool: Simon, after the thug-couple tries to soak him in gasoline, and (implied) burn him.
Both Henry and Murray were earnest, yet morally flawed, (Henry sleeping with comatose mother, Murray feeling up his niece).
And both really moved me. But that's besides the point.
Agree? Disagree? Don't really see the point?
well, it's just that the movies hit me in a similar manner. Uplifting, in a twisted dark way. |
