Dave may have his views because it is all guesses. The truth is No one knows what is a buy and what is a sell, T/S or level II. My guess is that "matches" reflect a buy and a sell. I buy 90% of the time at the bid and sell at the ask. What occurs then? you see a match 90% of time. When I see the match, I know I got it for sure.

Trying to tape read has become harder with more players and more information. Keep your eye on the prize - Price.

Accumulation may occur over a tight range. The longer the range in time, the bigger the move.
