September 30, 1999 16:41 U.S. court overturns $10 mln libel award against ABC By Jim Loney MIAMI, Sept 30 (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court has overturned a $10 million judgment against Walt Disney Co. 's ABC News, ruling that a bank executive who accused the 20/20 news program of libel failed to prove the network acted with malice. In December 1996, a Miami jury awarded $10 million in damages to BankAtlantic Financial Corp. and its chairman Alan Levan, who accused ABC of falsely portraying him as a crook in a broadcast about real estate investments.
