USA VIDEO INTERACTIVE SIGNS CONTRACT TO BEGIN
WEB BROADCAST OF INTERNATIONAL POLO MATCHES
MYSTIC, CONNECTICUT—September 30, 1999—USA Video Interactive Corp. (NASD: USVO; ASE: US; www.usvo.com) announced today it has signed a contract to supply video and encoding servers and web broadcasting services to PoloMania! for worldwide broadcast of international polo matches hosted by its site, www.polomania.com. PoloMania! plans to broadcast several hundred matches each year.
PoloMania! CEO David Cook said that after exhaustive research, they have concluded that "the technology incorporated in USA Video Interactive's offering is far superior to the competition. We reviewed all of the current offerings and several beta systems and USA Video Interactive's was the only technology that fulfills our needs for high-quality, full-motion video on the Internet. None of the others came close," Cook said. "With other technologies we could not even find the ball in the picture. With USA Video Interactive we could remarkably read the logo on the ball at pause." The contract involves purchase of an initial USA Video Interactive video and encoding server and, according to Cook, "We expect to have 200 USA Video Interactive encoding systems located in polo stadiums around the globe."
