Motorola Intros CopperGold Multi-Rate ADSL Solution

I'll finally be able to sleep nights!

Motorola Intros CopperGold Multi-Rate ADSL Solution

Equipment providers can now offer their customers more channels in less space
than before thanks to the compact footprint of the next generation CopperGold
Transceiver (MC145660) introduced by Motorola. This ADSL solution provides
cost, power, and board space savings.

Designed for use in router and set-top-box applications, as well as digital
subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM) and line card applications for the
central office (CO), the MC145660 offers a number of significant feature and
performance enhancements. These include support of both the new ITU full rate
(G.992.1), and G.lite (G.992.2) recommendations. The CopperGold Multi-Rate
Solution offers scalability for CO suppliers, integration of the ATM transmission
convergence sublayer to improve port density, and support of UTOPIA level 2
ports.

The CopperGold system includes central office and router reference designs
based on Motorola's popular 850/860SAR solutions. This solution pulls ahead of
the ADSL pack by excelling on several levels beyond density, including
performance, upgradeability, and flexibility. The CopperGold system solution can
double the port density on a line card lowering the equipment costs significantly.
Armed with both trellis coding and echo cancellation, the solution enables higher
throughput and greater reach.
