I'm responding to this topic, hopefully to refresh the topic and maybe some new interest as opposed to a grouping of all office product stocks. Yes, A very depressed stock but, IMO a pretty good buy at current levels. In my town we have 2 Office Max and 1 Office Depot. While OD is definitely better staffed, OM seems to have better locations. I use both, I need office supplies and Home Depot covers everything "BUT" :) At 5+ bucks I now currently own OMX stock and adding to a decent size position 7 1/8, 6, and if 5 1/4 (Hey, I can hope). It may be a long road back to the teens, but as I see it, they have the space and locations, now they need a good turn around plan, The Internet play is GOOD++, the product mix in stores is pretty good, delivery in my area is Great, very reliable. Maybe the margins on the products in general just aren't that much. If that's the case, they can't cut back on service, they have to renegotiate hard costs. Just throwing out some topics to mull. jnaplesfl |
