New Service Targets the Needs of Business Professionals and Companies
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Excite@Home (NASDAQ:ATHM), a global media company, today announced the launch of Work.com, (www.work.com), a new online business service designed to meet the growing needs of business professionals and their companies. Capitalizing on the company's expertise in the portal business, the effort is the first phase of a major initiative to develop a comprehensive business portal featuring vertical industry content, communities, business applications and services customizable to business users' needs.

The new service will launch today at www.work.com and as a new channel on Excite.com. The new channel will be named the Business Channel. Work.com provides users with business content, applications and resources suited for their particular industry or business interests such as:
Business & Industry Content Excite@Home has partnered with several leading content providers to offer Work.com users detailed vertical news, company and product information across 36 industries. Work.com content partners include CommerceInc, CountryWatch.com, Information Handling Services (IHS), Information Sources, and Seminar Information Service, Inc. (SIS).
Business Applications and Services Work.com provides applications that assist users in running their businesses, including business email, voice mail, calendaring, business site and storefront creation and hosting.
