Just bought a digital camera and 48MB Sandisk CF Card

I just ordered an Epson 850Z digital camera. This camera has not yet been released by Epson yet, although www.ic-direct.com is taking orders for it. It should be released in early-mid October. This new $799 MSRP digicam is a 2.1 megapixel model with 3x Optical Zoom Lens (threaded for additional filters and other lenses too), USB, a solar-assisted LCD screen, a flash hotshoe, and a host of other professional features. It also features a CompactFlash type II slot and can use the IBM Microdrive. I ordered a Sandisk CompactFlash 48MB card to go with the camera. If I need more storage, I will consider the IBM Microdrive and its 340MB capacity. No way would I lug around a clunky piecemeal device like Iomega Bomb! for digital cameras. Dumping the pictures to my Macs via USB should be a snap! I can keep an entire library of images on cheap CD-R disks- no need for Iomega anywhere!

ic-direct.com is the first vendor I've seen that lists the Epson 850Z for sale, and their price is $674.

Here are the specs for the Epson 850Z:
