Eric, you were saying that Honda was going to meet with AUTC, did they decide to go with Microsoft instead...?

"...Also last week, American Honda Motor Co. signed a three-year agreement to license Microsoft's DealerPoint technology for online lead management and incorporate the software into its Honda Interactive Network, scheduled for launch early next year. The system will let consumers configure cars online and arrange for preapproved financing and service packages..."

"...American Honda also hopes to use the Web to become more customer-centric and boost sales via its Honda.com and Acura.com sites. Today, customers can only view colors and accessories through these sites. In November, the automaker plans to test an enhanced auto-configuration and financing service on its sites in conjunction with 10 dealers. Next year, it will expand further by implementing the DealerPoint system. To enroll in that lead-generation network, Honda dealers must dedicate full-time sales staff to pursuing Internet leads and offer their best price up front, says John Fulcher, senior manager for E-commerce at American Honda. "Some of the more savvy dealers realize the reason consumers are going on the Internet is to get a good price-value relationship," he says. "The more we can tune our dealers in to that, that more business we're going to get."
