MB-Try "netzero.com" or "altavista.com" They are both free ISP and have dial-up almost in all big city. Only drawback is the little ads windows would have to stay on top all the time you're connected and no email. I live in San Diego and travel up to San Jose once a week for work, and it fits my need perfectly.
BTW I got burned in AMCC and SMTC too.
