Larry:
I am just not convinced that there is really a problem at Dell at all. I want to see more facts proving that Dell has service and support issues. But, at the same time, they have a right to be concerned about the report. They should examine this report and work simultaneously to correct a perception error or an actual problem. They will still have to deal with the growing pains as they continue to grow quickly. Either way, Wall Street needs to buy into Dell and what they are doing today... Their past record is exceptional, but they have to continue to prove that today and tomorrow will be even better... and I believe that is the case... People love to take shots at winners... Dell has to defend their past record, but their offense needs to continue to work over-time. Their competitors want to make them road-kill, so their moves must be calculated. Wall Street wants to manipulate the stock, so they can get it cheaper... This is nothing new. It has been the story of human nature since the beginning of time... So, Dell has to be ready to strike back against the attacks and almost have foreknowledge of these things. Just expect it. They need to be pro-active. And, I am not saying that are not doing all of these things, but it should be a more visible campaign. Meanwhile, it is still a roller coaster on Wall Street and relief has to be somewhere in sight...
And, AOL crashed on me, so I get to re-install this weekend. Good thing I have MSN too. Between the T-1 going down at work and my Compaq crashing, I am really becoming more technically proficient...which I need to be...
I hope Dell issues some kind of statement to refute that report... if they have not already. Can't wait to see what they do next...
