I think someone has fed Niles bad data to discredit him. Either that or he made it up on his own. Dell sales are moving rapidly ahead worldwide relative to IDC, Dataquest and every other channel you can think of. Dram prices are still 1/2 what they were last year and the average computer price isn't near one half relative to Dell's changing mix. Dell is the world's largest internet retailer. shortages are being adequately addressed. on and on. None of this obviously matters to him; so obviously he's being fed bad data. All I can think of it's being done purposefully.

Niles entire negative picture is comprised of shortages, increased dram pricing, and Taiwan. I'm surprised he doesn't mention the Giga report!
