WEST KINGSTON, R.I., Oct 1, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- American
Power Conversion (Nasdaq: APCC) (APC) announced today that it has
significantly expanded its relationship with IBM. IBM Global Services
can now resell APC's entire product and services offering, from surge
protectors to large three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to
power management software in each country IBM Global Services does
business.

Over the past eight years, IBM Global Services has offered APC products
and services throughout North America and in selected European
countries. Today's announcement not only expands the APC product
offering available to IBM customers, it also more than triples the
number of countries in which IBM can sell the complete line of APC
solutions.

"By expanding our reseller agreement with APC, customers around the
world now have a greater ability to purchase APC's products, including
its three- phase UPSs, through IBM Global Services," said David D.
Kennedy, global solutions manager, Site and Connectivity, IBM Global
Services. "Customers can now more readily tap IBM Global Services to
help them implement global power protection solutions."

"We are very proud that IBM has continuously broadened its relationship
with APC over the last eight years. With today's expansion, APC's
solutions can now be easily procured through IBM Global Services," said
Peter Rumsey, vice president of APC's Enterprise Systems Group. "This
global agreement also opens up several new IBM channels for APC
particularly in Asia, eastern Europe and Latin America."
