Valley Media Announces Fulfillment Deal With Shopping.com

WOODLAND, Calif., Sep 30, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Valley Media, Inc.
(Nasdaq: VMIX), a recognized leader in the full-line distribution of
music and video entertainment products, today announced details on a
recently signed fulfillment agreement with Shopping.com, an
AltaVista(TM) company. Under the terms of the agreement, Valley is now
Shopping.com's primary direct-to-consumer fulfillment supplier for
pre-recorded audio, video, and DVD. This is a two-year agreement that
took effect on August 25th, 1999.

"We're very excited about this new arrangement with Shopping.com," said
Ken Alterwitz, Valley's Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "As
their primary supplier, we expect to meet a very high percentage of
their customers' product demands. Our deep selection of over 270,000
items will prove invaluable in this effort. Additionally, Shopping.com
will be leveraging our audiofile(TM) database to enhance their on-line
information offerings. This is a premiere new media account for Valley
and we're very pleased to be working with Shopping.com," added
Alterwitz.

As an Internet fulfillment account, Shopping.com is serviced by
i.FILL(sm), Valley's e-commerce sales division.
