BOMBARDIER Q300 SELECTED BY JAPAN'S AIR NIPPON
OCTOBER 1, 1999 TORONTO, ONTARIO--Bombardier Aerospace announced today that Air Nippon Co., Ltd. (ANK) of Tokyo has placed a firm order for three 56-seat Dash 8(r) Q300 turboprop airliners for its regional operations. A subsidiary of All Nippon Airways, the largest domestic airline in Japan, ANK will utilize its Q300 aircraft on routes between Tokyo International Airport at Haneda and islands within Tokyo's domain, and for flights within Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost prefecture. "We are delighted that ANK will be the first operator of the Q300 in Japan," said Steven A. Ridolfi, president of Bombardier Aerospace, Regional Aircraft. "The Q300 will build upon the already established presence of other Q Series aircraft in the important Japanese regional airline marketplace." The Q Series family of aircraft is composed of the 37- to 39-seat Q100 and Q200, 50- to 56-seat Q300 and the new 68- to 78-seat Q400. All feature the superb Noise and Vibration Suppression (NVS) system which provides the quietest and most vibration-free passenger cabin of any propeller-driven aircraft.
