>>communists have routinely been part of several elected governments in many European countries (France, Italy, eg)...Not to speak of the infamous McCarthysm era! I noticed this allergy to pinko politics

That sentiment never ceases to amaze. Europe is a continent where in this century the US has fought two world wars and spent the last 50 years and much of its treasure trying to keep the uncivilized from warring upon each other. Italy is ungovernable and France is in denial. Europe, in a nutshell, is inferior. Why else does the US have to police the place?

>>looks like many Yankees are still traumatized by the 1980s' Reaganomics

Traumatized? Heck, we've revelled in it. We're in the 18th year of the Reagan Boom and the free market reforms of Reaganomics rules the world. France and Germany have been in economic backwaters ever since.

>>that is the times when Prez Reagan was labelling Communism as the 'Absolute Evil'....

Yes, that's when all saw that the emperor had no clothes. Communism could not survive that simple, elegant truth when pronounced by the leader of the free world and, as if on cue, collapsed.
