Stayhealthy.com Provides Weekly Health Content to Over 2.5 Million Readers in 160 Newspapers Nationwide
SIERRA MADRE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 1999-- Stayhealthy.com(TM) today announced that it will provide health content to more than 160 community newspapers across the United States, reaching over 2.5 million readers every month.
As a result of an agreement signed today with Brenda Adderly MHA, a popular journalist and medical detective, Stayhealthy.com will provide health content to a newspaper column called Brenda Adderly's Health Watch (in some newspapers it is known as Brenda Adderly's Eye on Health). Each column consists of 4 short articles, each about 200 words in length. The column appears every week. Sample article headlines include: Vitamin D Boosts Calcium Benefits, A Little Bit of Fish Goes A Long Way, For Energy Eat Oatmeal, Soy Reduces Stroke Risk, etc.
The Stayhealthy.com brand name will appear on each Adderly column.
Brenda Adderly has been positioned as an unbiased person (like Jane Brody of the New York Times) who brings interesting new health information to the public. Adderly has authored more than a dozen books with such publishers as St. Martin's Press, Crown, Ballantine, Little Brown and others. Her top selling book has been The Arthritis Cure, which became a New York Times #1 Bestseller. Adderly uncovers an interesting medical topic and then finds the appropriate medical expert to be a co-author of the book with her. For The Arthritis Cure it was Jason Theodosakis, M.D., for The Prostate Cure it was Harry Preuss, M.D., a tenured professor of medicine at Georgetown University, for The Libido Breakthrough, it was Stuart Fine M.D., one of the top urologists in Milwaukee. Adderly has appeared on numerous radio and television talk shows. Her first health information video will be released shortly.
"I'm thrilled to have found the perfect synergy -- Stayhealthy.com presents a balanced view of health information and topics; it arms readers with scientifically-based, relevant information for making sound decisions about their health," said Adderly. "That's exactly the mission of my books and column."
Ron Green, President of Stayhealthy.com, commented: "We believe the Brenda Adderly newspaper column represents an enormous opportunity for our on-line health company to promote its services, products and advantages off-line. Regular contact, in print, with more than 2.5 million readers gives us a tremendous opportunity to continue branding Stayhealthy.com as a reputable source of health information. We expect to increase the readership by adding more newspapers in the coming months and we are looking to expand our presence in other media."
Stayhealthy.com provides health and wellness support and information through a variety of programs including a burgeoning web site (www.Stayhealthy.com), physician practice initiatives and direct-to-consumer home monitoring programs.
