If you're familiar with how the MM do this, could you please post your thoughts on how this occurs? I don't understand how the MM's could disregard the stock price to the point of driving it up or down by _large_ amounts. If there are more buyers than sellers, and the stock is limited, then how can they hold the price down?

Are the MM's the people on the floor in New York -- the ones the news sometimes shows on TV behaving like paniced idiots?

Is the NASDAQ traded in the same, or different, location than AMEX and NYSE stocks? Different people / traders?
