Re: RoadRunner ~ it really is much, much faster, but it doesn't make SI any faster, I think it's SI's servers that are slow, or maybe just overloaded. Yesterday I upgraded my RealPlayer, the download took about 4 minutes, and would have taken 2 hours on my 56K modem. That was very nice. And I accessed a few video sites, and they were very fast, too.
As for the bad part of the lawn, yes, it's in a shady spot, and it's also on a steep slope. The back half of the yard is a forest at present, the front yard is quite sunny and the grass there is thick and green. It's the space between the back of the house and the trees that is bare, and with the recent rains, I've noticed an erosion problem. But I have yet to come to grips with it. As I plan to plant trees, put in a goldfish pond, build a deck, and put in a vegetable garden, I have to study the matter before I make changes. |
