"An Apple A Day Makes Me An MLA"

By our Staff Reporter(BM)

MLA aspirant N L Narendra Babu, 37, of Rajajinagar, believes that an apple a day can make him an MLA.

Babu conducts his campaign, with an apple in hand (that's his symbol).

But like the false promises of politicians, the apple also is not real. It is made of thermocol.

Somashekar, one of Babu?s colleagues claimed, 'People have reacted well to the apple. They have said that the apple will definitely bear fruit.' (the pun was unintended-Ed).

Some people even ask for the apple as a souvenir. "We say, Not now, but once the election gets over, we will give you a basketful of them."

Do they believe that he will give them real apples ?

"They smile and we hope the apple stays in their memory when they go to vote on Oct 3."
