Reagan would have easily won reelection if he had been allowed to run in 88. Bush did himself in by breaking his promise to not raise taxes. And running without any passion.

On the other hand, there is no way Gore is electable because of the Clinton legacy and his wacked-out eco-terroristic belief's. His silver spooned life, and out-and-out lies are so out of touch with the electorate I doubt he even gets 30% of the vote. "I picked it, I plowed it, I hoed it" The only thing he hoed as a child was the back seat of his limousines carpet. :-)
