I can tell you from personal experience @HWP in the O/S group, HPUX, 32 or 64-bit, is not a horrible O/S, but it just isn't Solaris. I can tell you from personal experience outside the HWP O/S group that HP-UX sucks (sorry). Well, it's boot program is slightly nicer than the Solaris dump-every-message-out-to-the-console-at-high-speed-without-a-scroll-bar, but once it comes up, it sucks (sorry). Their best bet at this stage is to go with Linux. HP, on the other hand, is one of the finest, highest principled company there is. That may be their biggest problem, I mean, look at the sleaze in Redmond. P.
