I sure hope I don't get Alzheimer's, everything I wrote or said my entire life could be up for grabs.

This is yet another example of the biased press drumming into the electorate an image they want of former President Reagan. They're desperate to erase the success of the Reagan Presidency. After all, we can't have any more of those tax cuts ruining our country can we?

Supply side economics, in large part, saved this country from economic ruin. Whether you believe Reagan knew what he was doing or not, the net effect to American was positive. The myth is that this country can be lead by a "central brain". Nations work much like organizations do. And are similar to the workings of an ant. One leg talks to the other leg and creates movement. Actions and success don't originate from the the central brain. Everyone is part of a "system". Freed from obstacles, and enlightened with a "shared vision" they can accomplish amazing things. Reagan infused a sense of this into the people. And recognized that "people" were the answer to America's malaise and not government. Entrepreneurship flourished and with it the American economy.

Too many people live under the belief that if they were in charge, they could simply design a better, smarter fix to our social, and economic problems. Nothing could be further from the truth.

There is an old saying in modeling which goes something like "all models are wrong, some models show useful relationships".
