Hi tejek; I think the Athlon is a kick butt processor, and has a lot more legs than people think. This is from the reports that the hot clockers have put out on it. I think we see 1GHz chips by the end of the year or so.

Re the CC, I have no idea. I never listen to them, having come to the conclusion that management only rarely tells what they really know about a company, and only rarely is correct about what they know.

I think that AMD's stock fortunes have historically followed the results of their flagship processor more than that single product determines their financial condition.

Speaking of financial condition, I need to get continue with this night's little Xilinx struggle. Their darn RAMB4 memories are not simulating as if they were initialized, though I know they are being correctly initialized in the chip. Another software bug. Picked up a few hints at a work around on their web site, I'll try instantiating and initializing them with VHDL.
